About Me

Empowered Birth Support Services was founded in 2022, though I have been serving the Central Texas area (Killeen and surrounding areas) as a Birth / Postpartum Support Specialist (a.k.a Doula) since 2016. My role is to provide non-clinical and non-judgmental emotional, informational, and physical support in the perinatal period (pregnancy, birth, and postpartum). The perinatal period is a special and sacred time in life that should be honored, respected, and safe. I understand the importance of having someone in your corner every step of the way and look forward to serving you and your family.

I am a strong supporter of VBAMC!!! My last baby was born via VBA3C in 2020! That birth deeply impacted the way I view my role as not just one of support, but sometimes advocacy as well. Informed consent is crucial in providing safe birthing spaces.

Certifications

• CBSS, 2017: Certified Birth Support Specialist (specialized training, 2020 - Emergency Birth Skills & Rebozo) - Mothers Blessing Maternal University (under Dulce Birth & Wellness Center)

• CVD (TVL), 2022: Certified Advanced VBAC Doula - VBAC Link

• BLS - Basic Life Support Provider

• Advanced NRP Provider: Neonatal Resuscitation

• Postpartum Support Specialist (doula): Non-certified by choice, but have taken multiple trainings / self trained (via reading, studying, etc.) since 2004 / over 20 years of experience providing postpartum support.

• CPST (STAC): Certified Child Passenger Safety Technician (specialized training - Safe Travels for All Children: Transporting Children with Special Healthcare Needs): Safe Kids Worldwide

  *Currently, I am in the last stages of midwifery studies / apprenticeship as a student midwife. Due to my current season of life, both my in person availability and services offered are limited. At this time, I am only providing in person Birth Support for returning clients and VBAC / VBAMC births only. Postpartum Support is not available at this time.
